Distribution and Market Presence
Within the Sri Lankan market, our products are made available to valued customers, predominantly through the Modern Trade, consisting of all supermarket retail channels. In addition, our rapidly expanding self-owned, ‘Mc Currie Showroom Chain’, presents the entire range of “Mc Currie” products across Sri Lanka.
Our products are available across the globe in all continents, including the United Kingdom (UK), United States of America (USA), Canada, France, Germany, United Arab Emirates (UAE), New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
We also value the loyal patronage we receive from a wide range of Industrial customers in our business-to-business (B2B) segment, including many large multinational and local manufactures. Hospitality, and Food & Beverage industries, comprising of Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafes (HORECA), are another key market segment in which we have substantial presence, offering value through ‘Quality, Purity and Taste’ to our customers, enabling them to enhance their respective product offerings.
Currently, the company is expanding local market penetration through a distributor network that will make our products available in stand-alone supermarkets and city-based large retail outlets.
Overall our market presence within Sri Lanka spans over 1000 outlets across the island.
Modern Trade (MT)
This segment, comprises of all outlets of major supermarket retail channels currently operating in the country. Cargills the largest retail chain possess an island-wide outlet base of 303, whilst, Keells, Arpico, and Laugfs the other three large chains, together operate a total of 131 outlets, and the state owned Sathosa chain operates a further 315 outlets. These Modern Trade outlets located within the 09 provinces and 26 districts, ensure island product availability of the entire “Mc Currie” product range.
HORECA
We currently supply our extensive product range to a customer base of over 100 within the HORECA segment, located in a geographical market span covering Western, Southern, Central, Wayamba and North Central, provinces, within Sri Lanka. We provide spices, customised recipes and spice blends to their given specifications.
INDUSTRIAL (B2B)
With a top-end customer base comprising many Multinational and large Local manufacturers that includes customers such as Uniliver Ceylon, Pizza Hut, Ceylon Biscuits, Maliban Biscuits, Sri Lankan Air Lines, Prima Ceylon, South Asia Gateway Terminals and Central Bank of Sri Lanka, our products add quality taste to their recipes. The industry spread of our supplies range from Processed Meat Products Manufactures’, Bakers, Confectioners, and Biscuit Manufactures. Supplying to the global giant Unilever, we conform to their superior quality standards and audits.
EXPORTS
Over its 34 years of existence, Lanka Spice has exported its whole and blended spices, chutneys, pickles, sauces, paste, baduns, pre-cooked sauces (masalas), curries, etc, to many countries in the world. Our ever-increasing customer base and export markets span across the globe, and we maintain export food quality standards that conform to all required international standards.
Our Value addition in Customizing Products
Lanka Spice has gone a step further and expanded its service offering to its global and local customers, by creating and producing customized products through extensive research & development that suit the specific requirements of our customers. We do this with an in-house R&D lab and team that can match given recipes and enhance them as required. We supply these products mainly to institutional customers in bulk formats. LSL also takes on private labeling according to customer requirements.
